Year 7 Arthurs Pass Trip 2009

This year the Year 7 Camp to Arthur's Pass was in the third week of Term One. Once again the students involved had three days of getting to know each other and a part of New Zealand many had never been to or explored. This year, because of the larger number of students, we changed our accommodation and stayed at the Arthur's Pass Outdoor Education Centre.

Some highlights of the camp were: having our very own personal guide, Hamish, 'accidentally' slipping into Cave Stream, trekking up the Bealey Valley and touching remnants of ice from last winter, eating snow berries, plunging into icy cold swimming holes, river crossings, observing cheeky keas, exploring Castle Hill, attempting or conquering the Devil's Crack, drinking spring water and experiencing Mr L'Huillier and Mrs Thomson's delicious meals.

A huge thank you to all parents for supplying such well-behaved children and wonderful home baking. It certainly made our job as teachers easy and enjoyable. Thank you to Mr Stone and Mr L'Huillier, for accompanying us and making camp possible.
