This event is at the CBS Arena on Tuesday 14 May starting at 5pm. Entry is free. We have Pasifika and Filipino groups performing. Please come along and support our students who have been working very hard preparing for this event.

Leavers’ Mass

On Wednesday 07 November we will be holding the Mass of Thanksgiving for our leavers at 10am in the College hall.

This is the final mass of the year and will be followed by the senior prize giving starting at 1pm in the hall. Daniel Faitaua, a past pupil and TV1 reporter, will be the guest speaker.

We hope you can join us for these important events as we farewell our year 13 students.

New Principal announced

The Board of Trustees have appointed Mr Tony Shaw as the new Principal of Catholic Cathedral College. Mr Shaw will take up his position at the start of T1 next year following the resignation of current Principal Mr Bruce Henley.

Mr Shaw is currently Deputy Principal at Villa Maria College in Christchurch.

After being a student at Xavier College, I returned to teach for 17 rewarding years, initially at Xavier and then Catholic Cathedral College. I left in 2000 to be on the leadership team at Villa Maria College, with responsibilities in Curriculum and Assessment and lately Strategic planning. After 13 wonderful years at Villa Maria I am looking forward to going back ‘home’. To lead this College is to stand on the shoulders of so many Mission Sisters, Marist Brothers, and the very dedicated lay staff who have taught Catholic children on this site over the last 150 years.
