Music at CCC
It has been a busy few weeks in the music department with visiting bands, CCC orchestra performing at the Town Hall and Cabaret performance evenings.
Cabaret Evenings Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th September
Students involved in Music and Drama at the College presented an evening of performances on Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th September. Both evenings were a great success with performances from the CCC orchestra, short plays from year 10 & 11 Drama students, Year 7 & 8 concert band and string ensemble, choir, and NCEA performances. A big thank you to all involved and to the PTFA who had a Cake sale in the intermission.
Music workshops
On Tues 1st September the College was lucky enough to have a visiting stage band from Launceston Church Grammar School in Tasmania come to the College for the day and work with our students. The year 7 & 8 students who worked with the visitors enjoyed the day and worked as an orchestra with Launceston students teaching CCC students.
Orchestra Festival
On Tues 15th Sept the CCC Orchestra performed at the Secondary Schools Orchestra Festival at the Christchurch Town Hall. The group performed to a pack audience in the evening gala concert and had the opportunity to be part of a massed orchestra with students from all over Canterbury.
