Pasifika Festival 2009
This year's annual Pasifika Cultural Festival was held the week of Monday 30th March. Over 40 of our young people were involved and spent many hours rehearsing and preparing themselves for this week.
During the week we had students involved in all the major categories of The Aneriuete (Teta) Pa'o-Sopoaga Pasifika Speech Competition. Our school earned four wins! Olivia and Fapiola Tatafu came first in the Senior and Junior Tongan section. The English Junior section was won by Rona Piilua, showing a style with huge potential. Italia Silao was second in the Samoan Senior section and once again was a natural. Well done girls!
On the Wednesday night our students performed in the Pasifika Celebration Evening. Once again, our school showed itself to be one of the top performing groups. The performance was filled with tradition, synchronisation and discipline and was very well received by the capacity filled audience. We commend these students and their leaders on their time and commitment to this event.
