Head of Department (Social Sciences) - Full-time, permanent (advertised on Education Gazette)

We are seeking a Head of Department to join our kura from the start of 2024, to lead our Social Sciences Department. This is a full-time, permanent position. The successful applicant will commence at the start of the 2024 school year. Ideally, the successful applicant will have strengths in either Business or Senior Geography, or both.

Teacher Aide (up to 2 positions) for 2024 school year - advertised on Seek in December 2023
Catholic Cathedral College is a Special Character, co-educational college with over 500 students from Year 7 to Year 13, situated in central Christchurch. We are seeking an energetic, caring, organised and motivated Teacher Aide to join our team for the 2024 school year.
The successful candidate will support student learning and contribute positively to our school community. Experience working with students with learning differences would be an advantage. Fluency in a second language is desirable, and the ability to provide clear and concise communications to students is required.
This is a fixed-term, part-time position, up to 25 hours per week excluding an unpaid lunch break, with work between the hours of 8 30 am and 3 pm, term time only. The start date will be after the beginning of the 2024 school year, in February 2024, until the end of the 2024 school year.
The position is fixed-term for reasons of recruitment.

Finance Officer - permanent part-time from January 2024 - advertised on Seek in December 2023
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer, preferably with experience in the education sector and with an accounting qualification, who will be responsible for all areas of finance in our College. The successful candidate will be pivotal to an effective administration team, by working closely with the Principal, Office Administrator, Student Administrator, Board’s Finance Committee, and other College staff, as well as external organisations.
Key tasks include, but are not limited to, ensuring accurate and complete accounting for all monies received and expended by the College, ensuring timely student billing to whānau, preparation of the annual budget, monthly reporting to the Board Finance Committee, and preparation of the annual accounts in conjunction with the College’s accountant.
The position will be worked onsite, 25 hours per week during term-time, with some flexibility around the hours worked in the five weeks of school holiday work. Remuneration is based on the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement 2022 - 2024, Administration Grade 5, dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
The person appointed to this position will:

We are looking for qualified teachers to join our pool of day-to-day relief teachers to start immediately, all subjects.
Previous experience working in a Special Character school or kura an advantage but not a prerequisite.
