Overview
As Catholic Cathedral College is an integrated Catholic School we do not charge domestic students tuition fees.
We participate in the Ministry of Education (MOE) Donation Scheme which means we receive $165.95 per student (as of the 2026 year) to assist with the cost of reaching and learning. This amount does not cover our full costs and therefore we may request a donation in certain circumstances to allow us to provide authentic quality hands-on experiences. In addition, there are fees for some subjects where there are specific project work costs and the student can take the item home at the end of the assessment (e.g. hard materials).
Please see below for other charges that can be requested:
Other Charges - Compulsory
Please see the links below, where you will find information and costs.
Other charges - Voluntary
These activities are purely voluntary and include things like music lessons, hire of musical instruments, school magazines, formal tickets, ID cards, and other non curriculum based activities like a ski trip. The cost and payment details will be added to the student account and must be paid in advance of the activity occurring.
Sports, including tournaments, which are played outside of school time are also classified as extra curricular and have a cost associated with them. The cost must be paid before a student's name can be added to the sport / team. See our Sports page.
Insurance
The College’s insurance policies do not cover students’ possessions and caregivers are advised toensure that their children’s belongings are covered by family household policies.

We are aware that it can be difficult to meet the costs as outlined above and if you are experiencingfinancial difficulties, please contact Deputy Principal, Francoise Heenan, onfh@cathcollege.school.nz or the Principal, Lee Nanai, on principal@cathcollege.school.nz
