TEACHER positions 2027 (Special Character Positions) - advertised on the Education Gazette from 31 August 2026.
Position 1: Teacher of English (Special Character Position) - Permanent, Full-time from 28 January 2027
Position 2: Teacher of Secondary Music, Performing Arts and Social Sciences (Special Character Position) - Permanent, Full-time from 28 January 2027
We are seeking two teachers to join our kura in permanent positions from the 28 January 2027. As these are Special Character (Tagged) positions, a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the College is required, and shall be a condition of employment.
To Apply: A Special Character Sch 6, Cl 47 form is required to be submitted as part of the application. Applications must also include the fully completed Application for Appointment: declaration form.
Applicants must have the legal right to work in Aotearoa New Zealand, and hold a current New Zealand Practising Certificate.

We are seeking a teacher to join our kura in a permanent position from the start of 2027.
Allowance: one management unit with time allowance
Position 2: Teacher of Social Sciences and other subjects
Full-time, Fixed-term parental leave position from 28th January 2027 to 18th July 2027.
We are seeking a Social Sciences teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 2 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time parental leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13 students.
Position 3: Teacher of Social Science, English, History Specialist and other subjects
We are seeking a social science / English / history specialist teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 4 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time relieving leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13 students and ability to teach senior English up to Year 13.
Full-time, Fixed-term relieving leave position from 28th January 2027 to 17 December 2027.
Positon 4: Teacher of Physical Education, Food Technology and Health
We are seeking a physical education / food technology / health teacher to join our kura from Term 1 to Term 4 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time relieving leave position. The roles requires experience in teaching up to Year 13.
Full-time, Fixed-term relieving leave position from 28th January 2027 to 17 December 2027.

Bilingual Learning Support (Tigrinya or Amharic, and English) - fixed term position, term-time only, six to eight hours per week, from 28 January 2026 to 11 December 2026
Worked over three days, with hours of work to be negotiated with the successful candidate; some flexibility is available.
The successful candidates will support student learning and contribute positively to our school community.

We are looking for qualified teachers to join our pool of day-to-day relief teachers to start immediately, all subjects.
Previous experience working in a Special Character school or kura is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
