Last weekend Annamarie Lipp competed in Le Race for the first time. Le Race is an annual cycling race from Cathedral Square to Akaroa, a distance of 100km and is widely regarded as the hardest 100km race in New Zealand. Annamarie came 1st in her age group and was the 7th women across the line out of 118 finishers across all age groups. She said it was the hardest race ever and that she will be back next year to contest the win across all age groups.
This is a fantastic result when one takes into account the level of competition, the weather conditions and the fact that it was her 1st time. Well done Annamarie!
