Information for Our Global Education Partners
At Catholic Cathedral College, we believe that international education is built entirely on trust and collaboration. We view our global network of educational partners not merely as representatives, but as an extension of our own community. You are the vital link between a family’s aspirations and our classroom reality. As Christchurch’s central, co-educational Catholic Year 7–13 college, we are committed to working closely alongside you to ensure every student is warmly received, deeply cared for, and supported to thrive.
Catholic Cathedral College
- Keeping Families Together (Years 7–13): Because our campus spans both the intermediate and senior secondary years, brothers and sisters can share their New Zealand experience at the exact same school. This provides parents with immense peace of mind and simplifies daily logistics, uniform requirements, and guardianship arrangements.
- A Welcoming Environment with Open Enrolment: As a State-Integrated college, we are not restricted by local residential zones. This gives us the flexibility to welcome students into our community regardless of where their vetted homestay or family care arrangement is located across the wider Christchurch region.
- A Naturally Supportive Multi-Lingual Community: Our diverse student body means our entire teaching staff are naturally skilled at welcoming and integrating students from all cultural backgrounds. English Language Learning (ELL/ESOL) support is fully resourced and woven gently into our daily curriculum so no student feels isolated.
- An Inspiring Central City Campus: Located on the edge of the Christchurch CBD, our students enjoy a vibrant, safe, and accessible urban environment. They are able to naturally engage with world-class civic spaces like Tūranga Central Library and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens as part of their learning journey.
Care, Timing, and Enrolment Guidelines
To help us ensure a successful transition and the best possible experience for the students you introduce to us, we operate with a few clear guidelines:
- Settle-In Period: To ensure individual students have enough time to truly immerse themselves in Kiwi life, form friendships, and benefit from our academic environment, our minimum enrolment period is 4 weeks.
- Our Term 4 Framework:
- Years 7–9 (Junior School): We warmly welcome full classroom enrolments for the final term of the year.
- Years 10–13 (Senior School): New senior students are invited to join us in Term 4 specifically for our 3-week end-of-year EOTC (Education Outside of the Classroom) programme. Because our domestic senior students are entirely focused on national NCEA examinations and study leave at this time, this specialised programme ensures your students remain active, supported, and engaged in regional adventures rather than sitting in empty classrooms.
- Hosting Group Study Tours: We enjoy hosting short-term cultural study tours and school groups of 10 or more students. Depending on our seasonal capacity, we can design custom timetables, English language boosters, and local Canterbury activities tailored to your group's needs.
Professional Agreements & Our Shared Commitment
We hold ourselves and our partners to the highest ethical and professional standards. Catholic Cathedral College is a proud signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice, ensuring that student wellbeing sits at the heart of every decision we make.
- Working Together: We operate under formal International Agency Agreements and offer competitive, market-standard commission structures for individual long-term placements.
- Group & Cohort Enrolments: For high-volume partners and group study tours, net pricing structures or custom tier arrangements can be easily arranged through direct consultation with our team.
